That's always been my nightmare from buying anything from the net. So far, nothing has happened. Still, comparing things overall, outside of the shock of receiving rubbish, the return policy worked about as smoothly as face-to-face store policy does.

houndini you are right about the prices being very expensive but because I love the whole feel of the place and the food (I suppose it can get a bit noisy when its busy) and we only eat out every couple of months so I don't mind the prices too much.

I haven't actually seen Avatar yet but I have watched the last half of The Lovely Bones only because my Sister made me as its not my kind of film but my friend said she really enjoyed the book.

I use to love Betty's tea rooms - though the only one I haven't been to is the one in Northallerton.

I've always found for what you get it's very expensive - even past restaurant prices! I took my Mum and my partner last year - and for 3 cups of tea and 3 [small] slices of cake it cost £25!

You're right, the furnishings and tableware step back time - but the place gets so busy that I find it really noisy and too crowded as they try and squash even more people and tables into the space!

Haven't seen Alice yet either - and was hoping to go to the cinema tomorrow. I might go for Avatar or The Lovely Bones. I've read the book of the latter and would like to see it's adaptation (even though the reviews for it haven't always been that great).

I won't be going again - unless I have a family member or friend interested in going who has never been.

That brings back memories; my grandparents used to take me to Betty's tea rooms when I was younger! I didn't realise Alice in Wonderland was a sequel either, I was well confused when I saw it! I wasn't overly impressed either, and like you would have prefered a remake.
